"Bench-to-bedside" is a great way to describe the goal of today’s biomedical researchers. It means bringing research results to the clinic, where they will improve the health of patients.

Our scientists work closely with researchers at leading medical centers around the world to apply Jackson’s groundbreaking genetics research to the treatment of human diseases. In addition, we work with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to bring new medications and therapeutic devices to market.

The Jackson Laboratory is actively pursuing new partnerships with organizations that can apply our unique research capacities in systems genetics. Recent examples include a collaboration with a leading medical school to determine the genetic factors involved in responses to new cancer drugs. Another collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry may help determine the genetic factors that affect drug toxicity.
