Chuck HewettFitzThe Jackson Laboratory is the largest employer in Hancock County and ranked among the state’s largest employers.  Approximately 90 percent of its revenue comes from out of state and 83 percent of its budgeted funds are spent in state; the estimated direct and indirect economic impact within Maine is about a quarter of a billion dollars annually. Charles E. Hewett, Ph.D., executive vice president, and John Fitzpatrick, senior director, Facilities Services, will discuss the Laboratory’s impact on our local economy, as well as its global position in biomedical research.
